QUALIFICATIONS AND EYFS

I have completed/am completing the following training:

  • Introduction to Childcare Practice course
  • Early Years First Aid Certificate
  • Progressing through the Level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare

My training is ongoing. If your child has any special needs I am more than willing to undertake the necessary training, which will enable me a greater understanding of what they require.

My Ofsted Grading

  • My overall Ofsted grading on my first inspection in May 2010 was ‘Good’ – The childcare provision is strong.
Some of the comments made by the Inspector are as follows:
  • Children are confident, relaxed and clearly enjoy the activities on offer which constructively promote the six areas of learning.
  • It is clear the childminder has formed a good bond with the children which, as a result, ensures that the children feel confident and settled.
  • The childminder creates a rich and varied learning environment for the children to aid their learning and development well. This allows the children to feel safe, settled and included.
  • The childminder works very closely with parents to ensure she meets their child’s continual welfare needs effectively.

My Childminding Views

I am extremely passionate about helping children to learn. I have seen with my own children how these intelligent little people grow and develop and it is a great honour to be part of a child’s learning process.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Most parents of young children will have heard of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It is a mandatory framework applicable from birth to end of the academic year in which a child has their fifth birthday. All schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings must adhere to the EYFS framework. There are four themes which are:

  • A Unique Child
  • Positive Relationships
  • Enabling Environments
  • Learning and Development

Within these four key areas there are other key elements which must be met by the childcare provider. This framework is an essential part of the Ofsted inspection process and all childcare providers must have a thorough understanding and show positive implementation of all the key factors.
